SNAP helps low-income working people, seniors, the disabled and others feed themselves and their families.  SNAP provides monthly benefits that are used to purchase food at authorized retail food stores. There have been many changes to SNAP that provide easier program access including the ability to apply right online.  SNAP eligibility is based on household size, income, resources and other eligibility requirements.
