​On December 21, 2018, Honorable Richard M. Koweek sentenced Thomas Confer to five (5) years probation; ordered him to perform 150 hours of community service and pay $290 in restitution upon his conviction of two (2) Counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd Degree; Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 4th Degree; and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 5th Degree.  Columbia County Sheriff David P. Bartlett's Office investigated this matter and arrested Thomas Confer.  Shane Zoni represents Thomas Confer.  (Indictment No. 18-030)

Koweek presiding.  The Court will sentence Alvin Carter on February 11, 2019.  Columbia County Sheriff David P. On December 21, 2018, Benjamin Brickle was convicted by plea in County Court of  Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated, Honorable Richard M. Koweek presiding.  The Court will sentence Benjamin Brickle on February 11, 2019.  The New York State Police investigated this matter and arrested Benjamin Brickle.  The Public defender represents Benjamin Brickle.  (SCI No. 095-18)    


On December 19, 2018, Honorable Richard M. Koweek sentenced Kayla Hanson to four (4) years probation and ordered her to pay $80 in restitution upon her conviction of two (2) Counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd Degree and Endangering the Welfare of a Child.  Kayla Hanson also forfeited $1,220 that was seized upon her arrest by Columbia County Sheriff David P. On December 18, 2018, Jeremy Hart was convicted by plea, as indicted, in County Court of fifty-six (56) Counts of Rape in the 1st Degree and fifty-six (56) Counts of Incest in the 3rd Degree, Honorable Richard M. Koweek presiding.  The Court will sentence Jeremy Hart on March 11, 2019.  The New York State Police investigated this matter and arrested Jeremy Hart.  The Public Defender represents Jeremy Hart.  (Indictment No. 18-021) 


On December 17, 2018, Brandon Hicks was convicted by plea, as indicted, in County Court of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 2nd Degree; Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd Degree; Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the 2nd Degree; and two (2) Counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 3rd Degree, Honorable Jonathan D. Nichols presiding.  The Court will sentence Brandon Hicks on March 7, 2019.  Columbia County Sheriff David P. On December 17, 2018, Renee Hicks was convicted by plea, as indicted, in County Court of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 2nd Degree; Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd Degree; Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the 2nd Degree; Criminal Contempt in the 1st Degree; and two (2) Counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 3rd Degree, Honorable Jonathan D. On December 17, 2018, Martha Williams was convicted by plea, as indicted, in County Court of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 2nd Degree; Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd Degree; Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the 2nd Degree; Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 3rd Degree; and Criminal Possession of a Firearm, Honorable Jonathan D. Nichols presiding.  The Court will sentence Martha Williams on March 7, 2019.  Columbia County Sheriff David P. On December 13, 2018, Morgan Sheldon waived indictment and was arraigned in County Court upon being charged with Rape in the 1st Degree; Criminal Contempt in the 1st Degree; Unlawful Imprisonment in the 1st Degree; Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 4th Degree; Criminal Obstruction of Breathing or Blood Circulation; Menacing in the 2nd Degree; and Assault in the 3rd Degree, Honorable Jonathan D. Nichols presiding.  Columbia County Sheriff David P. On December 13, 2018, David Lindsey waived indictment and was arraigned in County Court upon being charged with Criminal Possession of Marihuana in the 2nd Degree; Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 4th Degree; and Menacing in the 2nd Degree, Honorable Jonathan D. On December 13, 2018, Honorable Jonathan D. Nichols sentenced Marie Shook to five (5) years probation; revoked her Driver's License; and ordered her to install an Ignition Interlock Device and attend a Victim Impact Panel upon her conviction of two (2) Counts of Driving While Intoxicated.  The New York State Police investigated this matter and arrested Marie Shook.  James Kleinbaum represents Marie Shook.  (SCI No. 062-18)


On December 13, 2018, Honorable Jonathan D. Nichols sentenced Elroy Dupuis to five (5) years probation upon his conviction by plea of Attempted Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 5th Degree.  Columbia County Sheriff David P. On December 13, 2018, Honorable Jonathan D. Nichols sentence Angela Rodriguez to two (2) to six (6) years with the New York State Department of Corrections upon her conviction by plea, as indicted, in County Court of Promoting Prison Contraband in the 1st Degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 4th Degree.  The New York State Police investigated this matter and arrested Angela Rodriguez.  The Public Defender represents Angela Rodriguez.  (Indictment No. 18-018)


On December 11, 2018, Honorable Jonathan D. Nichols sentenced Shyquan Miller to five (5) years with the New York State Department of Corrections, for each Count to run concurrently, and three (3) years post-release supervision upon his conviction by plea of two (2) counts of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance 3rd Degree.  The New York State Police CNET Capital handled the investigation.  Ann Weaver represents Shyquan Miller.  (Indictment No. 18-024)


On December 11, 2018, Lawrence Posey was convicted before trial by plea, as indicted, in County Court of two (2) Counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd Degree; Assault in the 2nd Degree; Resisting Arrest; and Endangering the Welfare of a Child.  The Court will sentence Lawrence Posey on February 11, 2019.  Columbia County Sheriff David P. On December 7, 2018, Marco Genito, having previously waived indictment on October 31 in County Court, was convicted by plea of Burglary in the 3rd Degree and Grand Larceny in the 3rd Degree, Honorable Richard M. Koweek presiding.  The Court will sentence Marco Genito on January 23, 2019.  Columbia County Sheriff David P. On December 6, 2018, Richard Moore, Jr. was convicted by plea, as indicted, in County Court of two (2) Counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree, Honorable Richard M. Koweek presiding.  The Court will sentence Richard Moore, Jr. on January 14, 2019.  Columbia County Sheriff David P. On December 6, 2018, George Brehm waived indictment in County Court and was charged with Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated, Honorable Richard M. Koweek unsealed a Grand Jury Indictment in Columbia County Court on Wednesday, November 14, 2018 and arraigned Barry Goldstein.  The Grand Jury indicted Barry Goldstein for Insurance Fraud in the First Degree; Arson in the Third Degree; and Reckless Endangerment in the First Degree.  The Court scheduled a trial for September 9, 2018.  Columbia County Sheriff David P. On November 2, 2018, Honorable Jonathan D. Nichols sentenced Adrien Cadwallader to six and one-half (6 1/2) years with the New York State Department of Corrections upon his conviction of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd Degree and six and one-half (6 1/2) years with the New York State Department of Corrections upon his conviction of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 4th Degree, to run concurrently. On October 22, 2018, Keith Benson was convicted by plea of one (1) Count of Predatory Sexual Assault Against a Child and two (2) Counts of Course of Sexual Conduct Against a Child in the 1st Degree, Honorable Richard M. On September 20, 2018, Honorable Jonathan D. Nichols sentenced Richard Bersaw to five (5) years probation; and ordered him to pay a $1,500 fine, install an Ignition Interlock Device and attend a Victim Impact Panel upon his conviction of two (2) Counts of Driving While Intoxicated.
