The Probation Department, in accordance with Criminal Procedure Law and Penal Law, is responsible for the collection and disbursement of court ordered restitution. In addition, courts sometimes direct the Probation Department to collect court ordered fines.
Accepted forms of payment for all restitution and fines are as follows: Cash, Money Order, Certified Bank/Tellers Check, made payable to Columbia County Probation. PERSONAL CHECKS and CREDIT/DEBIT CARDS ARE NOT ACCEPTED, however; check back soon as we may be adding a credit/debit payment option. |
