The Columbia County Environmental Management Council is a duly authorized advisory body to the Columbia County Board of Supervisors under Article 47 of the New York State Environmental Laws.

In 1995 the council developed a community resource directory to aid the citizenry of the county in their search for the information on environmental matters of concern, or, general interest.

As part of our work program for 2008, the council recognized the need for an updated, expanded, electronic version of the original resource directory.

It is the sincere hope and desire of the council members that the information herein provided will be a starting place for all users in their quest for information and knowledge that will lead them to a better understanding of the environmental issues and problems facing us today.

The council members and I deeply appreciate the cooperation shown to us by the Columbia County Board of Supervisors and Columbia County Data Processing in making this site possible.
